Happy New Year !

I wish you health and wealth for 2012, may this new year bring you all that you wished and never dared to ask :)

And along with my best wishes, comes a new release of the RLV ! A big one.

Firstly, it includes all the latest improvements from Linden Lab, especially on the deferred rendering (that's "Lighting and Shadows" in your preferences) : faster rendering (my FPS went up by 150% at least), less artifacts, the ability to drag an item over the tabs of the Edit window and have them open automatically, exactly like in v1.x (for example, when trying to drop a script inside an object and you realize you didn't open the Contents tab first), and so on.

Secondly, it includes my own enhancements and bug fixes :

- added : Press Ctrl+T to hide and show the IM window (only works if there is at least one IM to show, and if IMs are organized in tabs, not separate windows).

- added : Conversations toolbox button to do the aforementioned action of showing and hiding the IM window. It looks like this :
It is a phone icon because to me IMs are a lot like phone calls.

- added : Press and hold the Shift key to make your aim 10x more precise in Mouselook mode. Very useful when your view is zoomed in with Ctrl-0.

- added : You can now sit down while in Mouselook mode, by holding Alt and right-clicking on an object.

- added : When a script tries to attach non-properly named items, the viewer will attach them anyway, by stacking (i.e. no risk of replacing locked items worn on the same attachment point).

- changed : Don't hide the user interface while in Mouselook mode. You can move your cursor by holding the Alt key, and click where you want this way (even on HUDs, and even if your controls are grabbed). If you want to hide the UI, simply press Ctrl+Alt+F1.

- changed : To hide and show the toolbox window, press Ctrl+Shift+T instead of Ctrl+T.

- changed : Added 2 lines to the text on script dialogs, for more readability.

- fixed : Couldn't change the profile options.

- fixed : Couldn't use "Add To Current Outfit" and "Remove From Current Outfit" on folders in the inventory, while something was locked on you.

- fixed : RLV_47 : The Avatar button was permanently disabled. Also the Avatar window is made a little taller.

I'm really glad of the work I did on the Mouselook mode, it was long overdue. We all regretted that it was rendered pretty useless in v2 and v3, while it was enjoyable in v1. Now you can chat, IM, use your inventory, HUDs and map, sit down etc, all this while in Mouselook mode. The only things you cannot do is edit and build stuff, simply because the code is really not made for this, and it would prove to be rather difficult for the user anyway.

Combined to a few improvements made by Linden Lab in the meantime (namely, the head attachments casts shadows and the point of view is a lot less restricted now), it brings back Mouselook to its former glory.

Please note : If this RLV doesn't work for you (things not rezzing for example), v2.8.1 is still available. That would be because I am struggling to build a correct viewer. It seems something is broken in my build machine, probably a library somewhere, but I do know other people could build 2.8.2 from my sources, and got it working. I'll keep you posted of course.

I'm also told it might be because RLV 2.8.2 does not install very well over a RLV 2.8.1 or below. I recommend you do a clean install by renaming or deleting your previous RLV folder before installing this one.

Hello again !

There was a bug introduced in RLV 2.8.2 that would prevent you from seeing your own profile. That's due to a faulty merge, I think. So here is a fixed version.

RR Tutorial : Anim plugin

$

Hi there !

This is a tutorial meant to show you how to use the new Anim plugin, that is meant to replace the old ForceAnim script. Although the plugin is complex, its use is simple and very close to what you are already used to : controlling your own Animation Overrider.

Until now, my restraints were providing at most 6 animations per product, and sometimes it would feel a bit cramped in there. For example, many people have been asking for a Kneel animation in the Vixen cuffs, but tough luck, there was no room for it.

Moreso, one would have liked to be able to lie down or sit down while standing straight with her legs tied, and couldn't because it was another lock, and so on. Or her hands would clip through her butt because her AO would make her stand in a way that her chest sticks up (I don't know about yours, but mine does).

Enough of that ! After months of working on my stuff, I have turned nearly all my restraints into the equivalent of an Animation Overrider, by replacing the old ForceAnim script with the new Anim plugin, giving you, the user, the ability to control it easily and make your bondage more enjoyable, life-like and sexy !

I won't write long pages of explanation... I am simply going to give you an example and show you enough to make you want to experiment !

I am now wearing my straps, which have been updated with this new "Anim" plugin. I click on the arms straps (remember, they are invisible while unlocked, so I need to press Ctrl-Alt-T to see them) :

Here is the menu I get :

I go to Plugins > Anim, and here is what I see :

It already looks very much like an AO menu : Stands, Walks, Runs, Sit, On/off... intriguing ! This menu is all good and well, but tell you what : I am not going to use it at all. Instead, I just press on "Give HUD", and I'm given an object that I wear :

Please note : I need to lock the straps first, the "Give HUD" button is replaced by "Reset" when they're unlocked, that's why it doesn't appear on the menu... I lacked room on the menu, sorry.

Now that does look like an AO alright ! I confess, I am so used to my old Vista AO HUD, that I inspired myself from it to create this one. I know it's bad, but people are so used to this kind of HUD that I preferred to stick to the standard instead of being creative. Besides it inspired me, I did not copy it, the icons are original, as well as the scripts. There is nothing in my code that comes from ZHAO or any other open-source script. Besides the Anim plugin does not even work the same way (if it did, it would conflict with your regular AO).

Now, what are all those buttons ? What do they do ? There is only one way to know ! I lock myself up in the arms straps.

Nothing new here, I'm strapped up. Well, something is new, I have redone the pose, the hands look better now.

Let's see what this AO can do. I press the right yellow arrow... and my arms move up a little ! One more press, they move further up, and up, up, up...

Ok this is a bit much, but can be useful when tied into a strappado. I keep pressing that button, and eventually my arms are folded behind my back, making it easier for... uh... spankings...

Ok, that's all for the arms. Not much indeed, but that's good enough for an introduction. Now let's switch to the legs.

Same thing, I click on them and I get this :

Oh, 5 anims now. Let's try "Hobble" :

Teehee. That looks embarrassing. I can walk around, or rather hobble around, but how about clicking on that yellow arrow again ? I do it and... darn, it moves my arms only, not my legs. How can I control my legs with that HUD ?

Easy, by getting a second HUD. I click on my legs straps, go to "Plugins...", "Anim...", and press "Give HUD". It gives me the same HUD, but not exactly identical.

In fact, a HUD communicates with an Anim plugin only if the name of the restraint matches the description field of the HUD. The one I got from the arms straps was configured to communicate with any arm restraint, while the one I'm getting from the legs straps is configured to communicate with any leg restraint. Besides, when I wear it I notice it does not attach over the first one, but lower than it. They look the same, but they actually control different restraints.

The upper one communicates with any restraint which name contains "fore" or "right shoulder" (in other words, arms restraints including the Armbinder) :

While the lower one communicates with any restraint which name contains "low", like in "r lower leg" :

So, I click on the right yellow arrow of the lower HUD, and this happens :

I'm standing straight now.

I click again :

Leaning forward a bit.

And again :

And one more time :

Wait... Isn't that the old sitting pose, that was taking a lock in itself ? Yes it is. It is now part of the first two locks, standing hobbled or standing with the legs tied up tight, and doesn't take up a slot anymore. It's just one sit, there are others.

I click once more :

I keep clicking, getting variations of those poses (sitting right, sitting straight...). Eventually I come back to the first pose (there are 10 at the time of this writing)

Whew ! This exercise made me sweaty ! I better get some rest... here, this wall over there will be perfect.

Hehe. All I did was stand back to the wall, and choose the 10th pose, which is the same as the 1st one but leaning back a bit. I always wanted to be able to use the environment to make my bondage more interesting and life-like. I can also do that while sitting on the ground, with my legs straight or knees a bit flexed.

Now, depending on the pose I'm in, my walk changes as well. This is because the button with a chain symbol is green, which means the anims are "linked", in other words everytime I press on one of the arrows, not only the current standing animation changes, but also the corresponding walk, the run, the object sit, the ground sit etc. And with how I have organized the animations, this makes the change more natural. For example, if I'm standing I will hop around, but if I'm sitting I will crawl around. The "linking" goes across locks as well, so if I'm bending forward in "Hobble", I will also bend forward in "Tight" until I change it myself. Likewise, if I'm on my left side in a hogtie, I would be on my left side as well if the hogtie is tightened.

Alright, let's rest a bit more, these heels are killing me. I'd like to find a prim to sit on. What do you mean I can't sit down because my legs are tied ? Pfft. That was before !

I hobble my way to a comfy-looking plywood prim...

... and I sit on it.

Woohoo ! My legs are still tied the way they were ! I can use the arrows to choose the pose (there are 3 sits, and 3 variations of them, plus some of the stands).

I don't really need to explain all the buttons of the HUD, they are all pretty clear. The white ones let you go to a menu of the plugin itself (sits, ground sits, walks, runs, stands and main menu from top to down), the pause button lets you cycle through your poses automatically, the link was already explained, and the bottom two are meant to turn the AO on and off.

Lastly, here is what a typical notecard looks like. This is the notecard for the 4th pose, the Hogtie :

[ Standing ]Hogtie down:NF30|Hogtie left:NF30|Hogtie right:NF30|Hogtie up:NF60
[ Walking ]Hogtie down_w:NF30|Hogtie left_w:NF30|Hogtie right_w:NF30|Hogtie up_w:NF60
[ Sitting ]ObjSit|ObjSit2|ObjSit3|ObjSitF|ObjSit2F|ObjSit3F|ObjSitB|ObjSit2B|ObjSit3B|STANDING
[ Sitting On Ground ]
[ LABEL ]Hogtie

Looks very much like an AO configuration notecard, doesn't it ? The ":NF30" and such are meant to be blending anims, they are used to force your feet and your neck in a certain position. "N" stands for "Neck", "F" for "Feet", and the number is the angle for the feet (you can use 0, 30 and 60). Without them, hogties and other laying poses would make your neck look like the possessed girl in The Exorcist.

Lastly, you might have noticed that the HUDs are surrounded by a black area. If you click on it, the HUD will get out of the view. Click on it again, and it comes back. Exactly like the Riding Reins HUD.

This pretty much covers it. Just know that what I have showed you with the straps, also works with the Police cuffs and legirons, the Restrained Elegance set, the Serious Shackles, the Vixen set, the Armbinder and the Shibari ropes. All of them got added a whole lot of new anims !

In fact I have redone 99% of the existing anims, and added 6 times more, average. And I'm quite proud of my walks :)

Have fun !

Marine

PS : A few people asked, so let me precise that the one-piece swimwear I'm wearing here is "Sakura" by Annabelle Watanabe. You can find it on the Marketplace.

New update to your RR products : v1.22

Hello there !

Here it is ! After months of hard work, I am proud to announce the release of the latest update to most of my products ! This is a big update, with a focus on the animations and the leash, but also many small improvements.

As explained in this tutorial, the restraints are now made to behave like Animation Overriders. We all know how to use an AO and what it is meant for, so I guess this feature will be pretty easy to cope with. The purpose of this is to make your bondage more enjoyable, varied, life-like and sexy ! When your legs are tied up tightly together and you're standing, no more standing still not moving at all and not being able to sit down. Now you can bend forward, backward, sit down, move your legs ot the left, to the right, even lean against a wall, sit down on an object without breaking the bondage, and walk around in different ways. Same goes for Tauts, hogties, sits, lies etc.

I have redone the first pose of the Shibari arms ropes, so it looks more relaxed :

The hogtie, however, is NOT relaxed !

It's even tighter in the Vixen cuffs :

A hogtie in the police legirons is good...

... but it's even better when it's inviting !

The straps are also much more versatile :

You can even sit down on an object without breaking the legs bondage, in most cases :

Oh, did I tell you that I finally added two more cuffs to the Elegance set ?

Way to look good in submission now !

And the best way to look good in bondage, is to look relaxed :

I have redone nearly all my animations to make them smoother and more realistic, and adapted to the situation. When you need your arms folded, you can fold them. When you're laying on your back with your hands cuffed together, you can bring your arms up behind the small of your back, for a more realistic look. When you're sitting down, you can lift your hands a little so they don't clip your legs. When you're tied in a strappado, you can actually move your arms up far behind your back to execute the strappado. When you're hogtied in some restraints and you feel hot, you can spread your thighs. If you're tired of being hogtied on your belly, you can roll over to the left, the right or even to your back. And so on.

And you can add your own animations. The only thing to keep in mind is that each pose (Taut, Tight, Hands back...) is distinct from the others mainly by the chains and items that show. Knowing that, adding an animation is as easy as dropping it into the restraint and writing its name into one of the notecards. Like an AO !

Aside from the animations, the Leash has changed a bit as well. This tutorial explains it in detail. The plugin now provides a HUD that lets you focus on a prim in-world and leash the sub to it, whether the prim is scripted or not, or a root prim or a child prim. Just Alt-click on a prim, click on the HUD, and all the subs you are holding the leash of will be leashed to it instead.

Another improvement to the leash is that the chain looks better now, and spawns from different points according to the current lock, instead of always the same spot.

Finally, the restraint is automatically unleashed when it is unlocked.

Here is an excerpt from the release notes :

* Anim plugin : this is the main change, simply click lock your restraint, then press "Plugins", then "Anim", then "Give HUD". Wear the HUD you are given and play with the yellow arrows. That will give you a good foretaste of what this plugin can do !
- This is a new plugin that replaces the old ForceAnim script in most restraints. It acts like an Animation Overrider, and even gives you a HUD to control your poses more precisely. With it, come many new poses and animations, to make your bondage more life-like !
- Can sit even with the legs tied.
- Animations configurable through the use of notecards.
- Redid most of the animations to make them smoother, more realistic and most of all, sexier !

* Leash
- Added the ability to leash anywhere (really anywhere, including unscripted prims, child prims, even avatars, even cross-sim) just by focusing your camera on the object you want to leash the sub to, and clicking on the HUD given by this plugin.
- Made the chain or rope change its point according to the current lock, sometimes several chains may even appear when it makes sense.
- Changed the texture of the rope on the Shibari set, to look more like a rope and less like a mess.
- Changed the default texture of the chain to a less bulky one.

* Control plugin (RLV)
- Added the ability of restricting teleports (same button as "Fly"). This does not conflict with the Leash though, which still issues teleport restrictions as well. That way you can decide to restrict TP without leashing if you want to.

* Restrained Elegance set
- Added 2 more cuffs, for the elbows. The old 6th pose (wrists tied high to the collar, behind your back) is replaced with a U-shape pose, closer to that of the Serious Shackles.

* Legs straps and Legs shibari ropes
- Added a "Hobble" pose, in which only your thighs are tied, and you can walk around slowly.

* Shibari
- Changed the chest ropes a little so that they are much easier to resize to your shape.

* Give Keys
- Added a button to simply throw the key away. Careful, this means you have to struggle out or to ask someone to use their RealKey on you to free you !

Please note that due to the amount of changes involved, the only option is to replace your products through my updaters. I can't give you the choice between "update" and "replace", a regular update would leave you with incompatible scripts and some features would stop working. For instance you would not be able to see the chain of the leash anymore. I know it's a pain to resize your stuff, especially the Shibari ropes. However I have done my best to make those easier to resize now.

Have fun !

New product in Marine's Goodies : The Diamond HUD

$

Hello there,

A long time ago I made myself a small HUD to help me manage my many shared outfits (the ones under #RLV). Because I don't know about you, but I have many, many, many outfits, shoes, restraints, you name it. Too many for the My Appearance window, and certainly too many for the Inventory window. Besides I don't always have access to my inventory anyway.

With this HUD, I could wear entire outfits in one click, without having to browse anything. It was so fast that I could not imagine wearing stuff without it. All I had to do was to "bookmark" an outfit to a prim, and voila. One click it's on, one click it's off.

Then I thought "why not let someone else control my outfits through a similar HUD, too ?". For example, that "someone else" would wear the same HUD, import my bookmarks, and click on one of them to make me wear the bookmarked outfit, all this without having to browse through my many, many, many outfits, shoes and restraints.

Sounds good ?

Yes good enough to share, so here it is, the Diamond HUD is the second product sold through Marine's Goodies.

Features :

* Attach and detach your clothes in one click.
* Manage your outfits easily, quickly and efficiently, even faster than through the "My Appearance" window.
* Open a menu to navigate through your outfits with a script.
* Save your configurations and load them later.
* Control your friends' outfits through their Diamond HUD by using yours like a remote.
* Command it with clicks and voice commands.
* Compatible with the "My Outfits" folder in your viewer, if you are using it.

Attention : This HUD requires the use of a RLV. If you are not a RLV user, you will not be able to make the HUD attach and detach your own outfits, but you will be able to control other people's Diamond HUDs (provided they are RLV users themselves).

Please note, that since this is through my Marine's Goodies line of products, there are only two vendors at the time of this writing : one at my shop in Pak, the other at the Little Shop of Kink in Lineside.

My shop : http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Pak/76/61/105

Little Shop of Kink : http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Lineside/102/146/77

I hope you will find this HUD as useful as I do !

Have fun,

Hello there,

After 2 months of non-updates (mostly because I was busy on other projects, as you may have noticed), here is the latest version of the RLV, with a couple enhancements and several bugfixes :

- added : RLV_57 : Avatar Z Offset widget now has a button to reset your height offset to zero.
- changed : Now the name of the attachment point must be between parenthesis : "(spine)" instead of "spine", so that objects containing "top" (for example) are not mistaken for HUDs.
- changed : Removed Qarl's alpha mesh deformer, which would make the viewer crash when looking at some specific meshes.
- changed : "(avatar center)" is now treated exactly as "(root)" in the object names.
- fixed : Automatic attachment of objects when logging on was not always working, when the folder they are contained into was locked (with @unsharedwear or @attachathis).
- fixed : @setenv_preset was broken (the underlying code from the SL viewer had completely changed and expected case-sensitive preset names).
- fixed : "nostrip" was not letting you remove some clothes manually or would let a script detach objects without caring for the "nostrip" bit. Thank you Henri Beauchamp for the heads up !
- fixed : @remoutfit=force did not remove physics and would forget some layers. Thank you Henri Beauchamp for the heads up ! (it was such a beginner error ! Yes I'm ashamed.)
- fixed : RLV_58 : Teleporting would stop flying. Thank you Lance Corrimal for the fix !
- fixed : The draw distance slider was too close to the money display, making it unreadable.
- fixed : Inventory, friendship and teleport offers were not easily clickable on the IM window.

As usual, you can grab the viewer here :

New product : Sassy Ponygirl AO

$
0
0
Hi there, long time no see !

I've been silent lately... only because I was busy. I have been working hard on three projects at the same time, and today is the time to release the first one : my new Sassy Ponygirl Animation Overrider.

Wait, what ? An AO ? A ponygirl AO ? It is true that my business, restraints, is only remotely tied to ponyplay. Ponygirls (and ponyboys) do often require restraints for training, but not all of them, and not at all times. However, I am very much fond of ponyplay myself, and have been training seriously for years. And although the pony gear you can find in SL is high quality, I can't say the same of the animations (with the notable exception of the MD pony boots, that I like a lot). I have a big gripe particularly against that freebie pony walk you see everywhere. With its overly arched back, its arms swaying at the beginning if the anim, its heavy walk and... its twitch at the end... aaargh. Sorry but I just can't stand it, and I know I am not the only one.

So, here is my attempt at making something nice for ponygirls. And ponyboys, to an extent, although this project is clearly aimed at female ponies.

Firstly, a word about the Animation Overrider (AO) itself. I am using the ZHAO-II scripts, which are full perms, open-source scripts created years ago by Francis Chung, then modified later by Ziggy Puff. It has been passed around and modified by some people, including myself, over the years. You are allowed to use these scripts and modify them at will, even resell products containing them, but the Gnu General Public License requires you to keep them full perms if you do so, and credit the previous scripters in the code.

The animations themselves are copy/mod/no-trans, which means you can copy the AO at will but you cannot transfer it. The sounds themselves are full-perms because of an SL limitation with playing sounds, but I do not grant the right to use them in your own projects, unless they are private and not meant to be distributed. You would not find them very useful outside this AO anyway.

Yes, you read right : sounds. This particular AO uses modified scripts that offer support for sounds, for example when you walk. Each walk has its own sound, and each sound is synchronized with it. To be able to play the sounds, you must wear the secondary attachment that comes with the AO, because SL does not let a HUD play a sound that must be heard in-world, it must come from an object attached on the body.

Another nice feature of this AO is blending animations, ala Vista AO. Since the walks are quite natural, your arms will be swinging back and forth. Most ponies and trainers don't want that, and prefer the arms to stay above the chest, behind the back, what-have-you. Some ponies do not even have arms at all ! So with the press of a button, you can force your arms to stay in one position, whether you walk, fly, jump, sit, run or whatever you can think of.

But enough talk ! Let's show you some eye candy, starting with the look of the AO itself :

I have used my old Divine Girl AO from Vista as an inspiration for the look of this HUD.

This Pony AO is good not only for ponyplay. You don't really like to have to switch your AO all the time, and you might not be always in your pony tack. So the first stand and walk of this AO are not actually pony-like. They are sexy and feminine, but work very well in everyday life :

And if you want to be all seductive, walk slowly by "crouch-walking" (that's Page Down plus an arrow key, peeps) :

No guy can resist that.

There are 9 poses, all of them leaving the head free and the body relaxed, not looking painful at all :

The last pose is funny, and suitable for eager ponies !

Now enough of the vanilla stuff, let's move on to the pony stuff ! Let me put on my tack, and show you some walks :

I have only showed you 3 walks (the vanilla one, a sloppy prance and a more serious prance), but there are actually 9 walks. The last three are older but no less good. They are less wiggly, hence I guess fitter for ponyboys. Try them all !

Ponygirls like running, too !

Of course, all those poses and anims work well with restraints. Let's show you how it looks with my armbinder on :

But ponies are not always restrained. In fact, I know some who loathe being restrained, because they believe restraints get in the way of submission. I won't argue about that here, and that's why I provide what I call "blend anims", which are additional animations for the arms, to be held still while walking, running and doing other stuff :

(there is no bug here, I am merely switching the blend anim on and off while walking, to show you that it does refresh itself)

You have 3 blend anims to hold your hands above your chest or at shoulder level, two blend anims to hold your arms behind your back, and one blend anim... for ponies who do not have arms at all !

After the effort, ponies like to rest. But how can you sit when you have a big plug up your... well, you know. That's why they usually kneel on the ground instead :

But when they do NOT have a big plug up their *beep*, they do like to look good when sitting down :

When you're a good pony, even difficult landings must be done with elegance :

Now, let's not forget that ponies do need to communicate. Or at least to indicate they have understood orders. Usually, they stomp. Once for yes, twice for no. This is not really the role of an AO, but you don't want to be an incomplete pony, right ? So here are three gestures that I include as a bonus.

Stomping ("/i" for once, "/u" for twice) :

Aaaand... a cute curtsy ("/curtsy"). Because ponies are cute.

Thank you for watching !

This AO can be found in any vendor of mine that sell products from the Marine's Goodies brand, like my Riding Reins HUD or my Diamond HUD. It is not sold like my restraints in the RealRestraint brand, because it has nothing in common with restraints. The price is L$600, which for a product of this quality, is very inexpensive.

And as a bonus, I also include a copy of one of the stands and one of the walks as full-perms freebies. Feel free to redistribute them at will, just do not rip them off, please. All of these animations have required hard work and a lot of time. But if it can help getting rid of that awkward-looking freebie pony walk with the twitch, the one nobody can stand, the better.

At the time of this writing, there are only 2 Marine's Goodies vendors. One at my shop in Pak, the other in Lineside. I plan to add more, specifically at pony sims.

PS 1 : There are actually more anims and sounds than those that are used in the AO, I left them there in case you had different tastes. For instance, a variant of the heel click, or a slightly different run, with the legs less extended. Try them out !

PS 2 : Since some people focus more on what I wear rather than on what I show off, here is how I assembled my pony tack :
- Hybridz horse hood, minus the hair
- Juliana hair by Truth
- A mix of Tish Celt's hooves and Julia Faulkland's ankle ballet boots
- A black catsuit from Hugo Designs
- My Vixen collar on the 3rd pose
- And of course my RR armbinder

And for the non pony gear :
- Latex corset dress by KaS
- Mesh Classic heels by SKifija

PS 3 : In the video, you may catch a glimpse of the other projects that I'm working on. No further comment for the moment though :)

New products : Dogcart and Phaeton carts !

Hello there,

Here are the other projects I was talking about in the previous post : three gorgeous and very realistic carts for Ponyplay !

Carts are an inherent activity of Ponyplay. Just like racing, dressage and jumping.

Why carts ? Because ponygirls !

I have always been a fan of realism and predictability when it comes to handling vehicles in SL, sadly most vehicles, not only pony carts, are just too unrealistic. They rocket in the sky as soon as they hit a slope, they turn too fast, they misbehave when lag is too heavy, etc.

But I want carts to behave like carts. Slow and heavy but smooth and precise, and most importantly, able to handle several ponies at the same time. And when I say several ponies, I am talking about up to four ponies acting in a coordinated fashion, each pony adding "horsepower" to the cart. All of them are able to pull and steer, and the more ponies the more power (but not the more speed !).

What do you expect from a Ponyplay cart actually ? To look good, for starters. To behave smoothly and precisely so you don't get thrown in the lake every time you pull a turn. To be fetish, too, sometimes you like to transport a slave across several sims, and you want bystanders to see her. And you want it to be reliable enough to be able to handle lag and races without getting frustrated.

This is why I have created these three carts. One Dogcart and two Phaeton carts (one for two ponies, one for four ponies).

These are actually two products and not three. One box contains the Dogcart, the other box contains both versions of the Phaeton carts.

I could go on and on. There are so many features to describe and so many things to say. But you're not here to read some boring advertisement, are you ? How about I show you some pictures and videos so you see exactly what this is all about ?

Let me introduce you to my friends, who helped me with the pictures and the videos !

From left to right : "Pepper" (atmu Evans), "Princess" (Sabrina Dumont, my Mistress who has also been a wise-ass during the whole photoshoot :p), "Pretty" (Yours truly) and "Azure" (Devious Lei). Behind us, the 4-pony Phaeton cart.

And here are Evan Trellis and his girl Ani Littlebird. Aren't they cute ?

I will show you the Phaeton carts first, then the Dogcart.

When the 4-pony Phaeton is full, here is what it looks like. This is a sight to see ! The poor girls in the cage and chained to the back ring are Innocent Istmal and Aprille Dollinger.

A fully crewed Phaeton, getting ready to go !

If you're good, you can make your ponies walk synchronously.

Or even run synchronously.

This is what the driver sees. Evan insisted that he could see our butts wiggling. Figures !

"I wonder where they are taking us"

Like I said, the other version of the Phaeton cart is made for two ponies only.

It is exactly the same cart, except for two ponies instead of four.

You can tint some parts of the cart through the script. And you can even add your own decals ! Some are included in the box.

And now for the Dogcart

Front view of the Dogcart. I am holding Pepper's reins in my left hand, and am getting a cuddle from my Mistress at the same time :) Life's good !

Side view of the dogcart.

Here is what the driver sees in Mouselook. What a fine day !

Surprise ! This is a dogcart after all, and real life dogcarts are meant to bring dogs to the field, so... there.

Brake ! Brake ! Braaaaaake ! *CRASH*

Now that I have your attention, take a look at the list of features :

Both carts

* Many smooth, original animations that you can change while driving. Walk, walk slowly, walk back, run, turn left and right, several sits and stands. And the passenger can even give the driver a cuddle !
* Realistic handling : the speeds match that of a walking or a running avatar.
* All ponies are allowed to pull and steer the cart, their actions add up for more "horsepower".
* The weight varies with the number of passengers and ponies.
* Mesh and sculpts for a better look.
* Entirely configurable through notecards. Too slow ? Too fast ? Want to add anims and sounds ? No problem. This manual even explains how to do that. Make this cart your own !
* The wheels turn independently according to the speed of the cart. For instance, the inner one will be slower than the outer one when turning. They are not scripted, for a lighter sim usage.
* Choose the color you prefer.
* The reins are supposed to be held in the left hand, that moves when the drivers presses arrow keys. Especially useful with a Riding Reins HUD.
* Return home or self-destruct immediately or some delay after people have disembarked.
* The ponies can type while walking and running, no need to keep the up arrow pressed to walk. This makes it easier to emote while working !
* Sounds of footsteps, synchronized with the walk and run.
* Sounds of wheels, different ones depending on the speed of the cart.
* More animations and sounds are provided than those that are used, for more customization.
* Can switch in and out of Mouselook.
* Several levels of access : open to all, group only for ponies, group only for passengers, group only for both, and owner only.
* Can hitch a pony or a prisoner through their RLV relay, and they will stay locked to the cart even if they relog.
* Not spammy, messages are sent only to the relevant user.
* Updatable (provided there is an updater is around), so you keep your customizations even through updates.
* Copy/mod with mod instructions.

Phaeton carts only

* Two versions of the cart : 2 ponies or 4 ponies.
* 2 or 4 strap for the ponies, 2 seats for 1 passenger and 1 driver, 1 cage for a prisoner (because Ponyplay is about fetish and BDSM).
* Leash ring on the rear to leash a slave to (compatible with RealRestraint products).

Dogcart only

* 1 strap for a pony, 4 seats for 1 passenger each, 1 cage for a prisoner (this is a dogcart after all).

Last but not least, you get bonuses in the boxes ! A wearable rezzer that lets you rez your cart when touched (handy when you're bound), decals for more customization, and more animations and sounds contained in the carts than actually used. You will recognize those from the Sassy Ponygirl AO.

The rezzer looks like a tattoo of a cart, directly on the pony's butt. Why a tattoo ?

Because ponygirl. *SMACK !*

As for the pricing, the Dogcart costs L$400 and the Phaeton carts cost L$600. Both products are Copy/Mod/No-trans.

Like with my Sassy Ponygirl AO, these carts are sold through my Marine's Goodies side brand. At the time of this writing, you can find three vendors :

- KDC Delilah black and  white/red/purple/blue latex corsets
- KCreations knee high pony boots (not patent) with white/red/purple/blue laces
- KDC bridles and blinkers, heavily modified to match our tacks

Hi,

Here is a new version of the RLV, to keep up with the latest fixes by Linden Lab. Oh and also to fix that stupid bug of mine that would not let alpha textures cast shadows. It was a side effect of my fix to keep invisiprims from being broken in deferred rendering (aka "Lighting & Shadows" in the preferences window), and that has been fixed. Adding that to the fact that LL has been working on making the viewer more stable under heavy load, this makes for an interesting version in my opinion.

- fixed : Alpha textures were not casting shadows with "lighting & shadows" on, leaving the shadows of trees leaf-less like in winter.
- fixed : The distance reported on the minimap when hovering your cursor over a dot was wrong.
- fixed : Lots of bug fixes from Linden Lab, I can't list them here. Notably :
    - Stability fixes
    - Received Items fixes
    - UI fixes (Ctrl-W did not work, tooltips were off, text positioning was off, drag-n-drop in Recent Items was not working)
    - Sounds were not playing the first time
    - And many more fixes LL has been working on for months

Hi !

Here is the latest version of the RLV, still keeping up with Linden Lab's work. Today's version includes LL's new spell checker ! I know a few people who will love that one. I'm not sure whether it works like the Firestorm one (you know I'm always reluctant to add features coming from other TPVs, their work is their work, my work is my work), but what I am sure of, is that this feature will be added to the official SL viewer eventually.

There are also a couple bugs that needed fixin'.

- fixed : The sound control was missing on the status bar (near the media control, top right corner of the screen).
- fixed : Standing up from a non-root prim while under @standtp crashed the viewer.
- fixed : Money amount and draw distance were one again overlapping.
- added : This version contains Linden Lab's new spell checker and replacer. Misspelled words are now underlined by a wavy red line (much like in most text editors), and right-clicking on such a word opens a menu with suggestions. You can also make the viewer automatically replace typos. All is controlled in the Chat panel of the Preferences window.

About temporary attachments and RLV...

$

Hi there,

I have not posted in a while, because not much has been happening lately. But lately Linden Lab has released their newest feature, "temporary attachments".

In short, temporary attachments are attachments that do not belong to you but attach on your avatar anyway. This is a nice feature for many use cases, but it is problematic with the RLV.

If you are a scripter, see for yourself : http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlAttachToAvatarTemp

Why is it problematic ? The way I understand it, what distinguishes temporary attachments from regular attachments is this :

1. You do not own them (that's the whole point), but your viewer thinks you do (somewhat).

2. They are destroyed when you log off (hence the "temporary" part).

If a temporary attachment was able to send commands to your RLV, Point 1 would be a real can of worms, a dream for any griefer because they wouldn't need you to wear an open RLV relay to send commands to you, nor to give you an object that you'd have to rez yourself. All they would have to do is to ask for your permission (and then maybe that permission can even be auto-granted, I'm not sure about that yet), and then it is open season.

Furthermore, if a temporary attachment was able to send commands to your RLV, Point 2 would make its interest rather limited, because as soon as the user relogs, all the restrictions would be lost (since the object would be destroyed).

Finally, I cannot think of a use case that would need a temporary attachment to send a RLV command, that would not be possible with a regular attachment or a RLV relay.

In consequence, it seems important to me not to let a RLV execute any command sent by any temporary attachment. Unless (and until) proved wrong, this is the route I'm taking about this new feature.

I just wanted to make that clear early enough so that scripters do not start projects that involve temporary attachments and rely on them sending RLV commands, it wouldn't work and they would be confused.

Feel free to discuss about it on my issue tracker here : https://bitbucket.org/marinekelley/rlv/issue/67/llattachtoavatartemp-and-rlv

... And it's about freakin' time... Oh, this thing was live ?

Hi !

Here is the latest version of the RLV, at last... I've been waiting for a while before being able to release this, because there was always something that was too wrong to make it acceptable for public use. The code from the official SL viewer has changed quite a bit in the last month, and many new features have been brought to SL. The two most important ones are Pathfinding and Temporary Attachments.

I have no clue how Pathfinding will work yet. I do know the viewer has to be able to handle them, but from what I understand, for the moment every third party viewers such as the RLV is unable to control it yet. The user interfaces are there, but they are just stubs so they won't do anything. A little like mesh upload back when it was new.

Speaking of mesh upload, it seemed that the new Pathfinding stub library for third party viewers included the code for mesh upload, at least the one given by Linden Lab, which is a stub as well. In other words, to release this "Pathfinding-enabled" (with big quotes because it cannot handle it yet) meant to not being able to upload mesh once again. Unacceptable, so I had to skim through the code to reinstate the open-source mesh upload library. This explains the delay in part.

The other big new feature for SL is "temporary attachments", which means that any object is now able to attach itself on you, whether you own it or not. If you do not own it, the attachment is "temporary" : you do not have it in your inventory and it will be destroyed when you detach it or when you log off. Problem is, the viewer is not given any way to tell a temporary attachment from a regular one. Not being present in your inventory is not good enough, because your inventory could still be loading so even regular attachments would not appear. Worse, a temporary attachment could issue RLV restrictions and commands. To at least err on the safe side, this RLV will not permit an unowned object to use the @acceptpermission command to attach itself on you automatically. It will always have to ask your permission, regardless of how restricted you are. I can only recommend to be extremely careful what you allow to attach on you. I am also convinced that eventually the viewer will be able to tell a temporary attachment from a regular one, but for the moment that is not the case yet, hence this precaution.

Another reason for the delay is that I am fed up, as in really really fed up, of all those viewer crashes. It is unbearable. Unusable. Pathetic. Part of the crashes are due to the open-source JPEG library (the official SL viewer doesn't use it since it has KDU, but Linden Lab does not own a redistributable license for it so we are condemned to using OpenJpeg instead). That library is good, but has severe shortcomings when it comes to handling degraded cases such as corrupt textures, huge textures or memory allocation. All those things are edge cases from this library's standpoint, but routine from the viewer's standpoint. As the crashes are not coming from the viewer, LL would not fix them, and as they are edge cases for the library, the team in charge for maintaining the library would not fix them either. Catch-22. So I worked on strengthening both the library and the viewer myself. It is not perfect, but I have a crash rate way lower than before. This is better than nothing, I guess.

Also I noticed that when @addoutfit was active, the viewer would sometimes have trouble reattaching bodyparts after logging on, resulting in making you a permanent cloud. I tried to fix that, it looks good from the tests I ran, but I'll still keep an eye on it.

Finally I wanted to make aiming in Mouselook even more efficient. Holding the Control key down while aiming now makes your aim more precise (speed x0.25), but not as much as when you're holing the Shift key (speed x0.1). Both keys are cumulative, which means that if you're pressing both, your speed goes down to x0.025 ! Now you can score a shot when zoomed to the max !

Anyway... enough blathering. The features themselves are few but significant I think :

- added : Press Ctrl while in Mouselook to make your aim more precise but still faster than with Shift. Combine Ctrl+Shift for an extreme precision.
- added : Handle the new temporary attachments by not letting @acceptpermission automatically accept attachment requests from objects you don't own.
- changed : Strengthened the viewer against texture crashes (this is most of the work that has been put into this version actually). As a result, it takes at least an hour to crash in crowded areas while on deferred rendering ("lighting & shadows") while it took a few minutes before. There are still artifacts on textures after a while, but at least we are not crashing as often.
- fixed : Alpha textures were not casting or receiving shadows.
- fixed : Made @addoutfit let bodyparts be worn while we are a cloud.

Restrained Love 2.8.3.3 again

$

Hi,

I'm making RLV 2.8.3.3 available again as 2.8.3.4, albeit being more recent, has also a couple bugs that make it very hard to build. These bugs have been introduced with Pathfinding, so they are very hard for me to fix by myself (and it is not my job anyway).

Keep in mind that I'm trying to stay up-to-date with the "viewer-development" branch of the SL codebase, which means I get all the new features as soon as they are added, but also all the new bugs. LL makes their code available in that branch for additional testing, then when the code is stable enough they push it to their "viewer-release" branch, which is what the official SL viewer is built from. I release a viewer when I judge it is stable and powerful enough compared to the previous iteration, but sometimes bugs take a while to be discovered.

For example :

https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-29466 : Objects you move with the Edit tools still appear not to move until you deselect them. Good luck building or even resizing stuff with that bug.

https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-29562 : Rotating objects like wheels and doors may appear twitchy or even not rotate at all. I know because it breaks my carts.

I've noticed sliding and rotating doors not working the first time when you operate them (I'm not talking of editing their position but merely to make them open or close by touching them). They do open, you hear the sound (for the doors which do have sounds), you can walk through them, but they still appear closed. Right-click on them or operate them again and all is back to normal. This is a very confusing bug.

Also skin and clothes have hard time rezzing recently, and I am pretty sure it is a viewer-side bug as well, because it does not do that in older viewers.

Projectors have a problem when you change their projected texture, it seems to revert back to the older one.

But the bug that irks me the most is the fact that flexible prims stop being updated after a while (usually after a teleport). Which means that hair, skirts and such will stay frozen in whatever silly position you can think of. It may be caused by VWR-29466, or it may be yet another bug. I don't care. I just want my hair not to look like I've combed it in glue while doing bungee jumping. I also want my dress not to look like Marilyn Monroe's in "The Seven Year Itch".

RLV 2.8.3.3 does not have Pathfinding in it, but at least it is less frustrating on a daily basis for a builder. It won't overwrite your current RLV when installing it, it will give a different folder by default.

Also I have added my customized openjpeg.dll to make it more stable than the original 2.8.3.3. But other than this change, it is identical to the original.

Of course 2.8.3.4 is still available for download as well. For the developers, that means there is no new source code and no build to provide, if you have kept a backup of the 2.8.3.3 executable.

New product : Tape gag & blindfold

$
0
0
Hi there !

I've been wanting to make this for years, but could never get to make something satisfying enough. Now that we can make mesh objects, here they are : a tape gag and a tape blindfold !

There is not much to say about this kind of restraint actually. Everybody loves duct tape... well a sub loves it until it has to come off. Because it sticks to the skin so much !

Alright, so, you've got tape. What do we do with tape ? We can apply it over a wad of cloth :

So far so good, but not too tight, the tape won't muffle much but will ensure the wad stays in the mouth. Why not add more tape ?

That's better. Still, a sub can work her cheeks and her jaw to make way for some air. What to do ? You guessed right, add even MORE tape :

"Mmmmph !"

Okay now that is airtight. No way air will come through. We can still hear SOME sound, but nobody will understand anything and it's so muffled it won't be heard even from the next room. Of course, if you want total silence, you can keep adding tape !

Mission accomplished ! Complete silence now ! Wait... is the sub glaring at you ? No problem !

There. A little patch over each eye and a layer of tape to cover them (you don't want to hurt her, do you ?) and she won't see much if at all...

... but let's err on the safe side, shall we, we don't want that tape to come off either, right ?

A final layer and that's it. The face is nearly entirely covered, the sub can't speak and can't see, and I'm sure will be a lot more cooperative from now on.

But, well, sometimes you like fantasy, and duct tape is so... grey. It's always good to keep the tape assorted with the ropes... especially if that's all that she is wearing. And nothing is worse than to be bound in non-assorted restraints !

Black goes with everything !

But colors make you stand out !

And if you want to stay discreet, nothing is better than a gag that blends with the skin, so your captive won't attract unwanted looks should she walk outside :

"You're ready for the photo shoot, sweety. Let's do it before sending the ransom letter to your dad..."

The tape gag and the tape blindfold are actually independent restraints, but they are sold together because they blend together well. They also use the same script as the Shibari ropes, since you can't use a key on tape. The texture changes through a plugin ("TapegagTex" and "TapeblindTex" for the gag and the blindfold respectively), but not the color. You can however change the color manually if you wish to tint the tape in a more personal way. It works best with the white and the light skin textures, but feel free to experiment !

Lastly, it is a mesh object (well, two) but not rigged, which means you can resize it to your face. It should not be too hard, the friends who tested it had no problem to resize it to their shapes.

You can find it from any of my vendors, here is a link to my main shop :

Updaters removed for the moment

Hi,

I had to remove all my 3 updaters from the grid for some time, because someone discovered a glitch that could be reproduced. I had coded a protection from the beginning against this glitch and I tested it, so I know it should not have been possible, yet it was reproduced so I can't let the updaters online until I patched this. That also explains a few bizarre logs I got a few months ago that I attributed to a SL issue.

Sorry about this. I have no ETA before the updaters are back online and I'm onto another project that takes priority for now so it might be a few weeks. I'll keep you informed.

In the meantime, please don't ask about the updaters. I'll send out a notice to my group as soon as they are back online.

Thank you to the person who informed me about this, and no thanks to the ones who exploited that glitch in the past, if any. I offer free updates at the cost of a lot of time spent working on upgrading my products, for no direct return. Those who see this as a weakness to exploit just suck.

RR Tutorial : Anim plugin v2

$

0

Hello there,

Please note : I have made significant changes to the Anim plugin, so the tutorial needed to be updated as well. This is the new version, you can find the old version of this tutorial here (http://realrestraint.blogspot.com/2012/02/rr-tutorial-anim-plugin.html). Because of the many new features, this tutorial is going to be a lot longer than the old one.

Or her hands would clip through her butt because her AO would make her stand in a way that her chest perks forward and her butt perks back (I don't know about yours, but mine does that).

The basics

I am now wearing my Siren ropes, which contain this new "Anim" plugin. I click on the arms ropes (remember, they are invisible while untied, so I need to press Ctrl-Alt-T to see them) :

Here is the menu I get :

I go to "Plugins...", "Anim...", and here is what I see :

It already looks very much like an AO menu : Stands, Walks, Runs, Sit, On/off... intriguing ! This menu is all good and well, but tell you what : I am not going to use it at all. Instead, I just press on "Give HUD", and I'm given an object that I wear :

I tie myself up in the arms ropes with the "Arms tight" button.

Nothing new here, I'm tied up. The ropes play an animation for my arms, and whatever I do I can't stop it.

Let's see what this AO can do. I press the upper right arrow on the HUD... and my arms move up a little ! One more press, they move further up, and up, up, up...

Ok this is a bit much, but can be useful when tied into a strappado, like this :

I keep pressing that button, and eventually my arms are folded behind my back, making it easier for... uh... spankings...

Ok, that's all for the arms. I didn't show much, but that's good enough for an introduction. Now let's switch to the legs.

Same thing, I click on them and I get this :

Let's try "Hobble" :

Teehee. That looks embarrassing. I can walk around, or rather hobble around, but how about clicking on that yellow arrow again ? I do it and... darn, it moves my arms only, not my legs. How can I control my legs with that HUD ? It seems to only control the arms !

Easy, by getting a second HUD. I click on my legs ropes, go to "Plugins...", "Anim...", and press "Give HUD". It gives me the same HUD, but not exactly identical.

In fact, a HUD communicates with an Anim plugin only if the name of the restraint matches the description field of the HUD. The one I got from the arms ropes was configured to communicate with any arm restraint, while the one I'm getting from the legs ropes is configured to communicate with any leg restraint. Besides, when I wear it I notice it does not attach over the first one, but below it. They look the same, they are used exactly the same way, but they actually control different restraints.

The upper one communicates with any restraint which name contains "fore" or "right shoulder" (in other words, arms restraints including the RR Armbinder) :

While the lower one communicates with any restraint which name contains "low", like in "r lower leg" :

See, the only difference between the two HUDs are their description. One is "fore, right shoulder" which means that any restraint which name contains "fore" or "right shoulder" will be controlled by it, like "r forearm". The other is "low", which means any restraint with the word "low" in its name will respond, like "r lower leg".

So, I click on the right yellow arrow of the lower HUD, and this happens :

I'm standing straight now.

I click again :

Leaning forward a bit.

And again :

And a few more times :

I keep clicking, getting variations of those poses (sitting right, sitting straight...). Eventually I come back to the first pose (there are 14 for "Hobble" at the time of this writing, some other ties have 20 poses).

Whew ! This exercise made me sweaty ! I better get some rest... here, this wall will be perfect.

Hehe. All I did was stand back to the wall, and choose the 13th pose, which is the same as the 1st one but leaning back a bit. I always wanted to be able to use the environment to make my bondage more interesting and life-like. I can also do that while sitting on the ground, with my legs straight or knees a bit flexed.

Now, depending on the pose I'm in, my walk changes as well to accommodate. This is because the button with a chain symbol is green, which means the anims are "synchronized", in other words everytime I press on one of the arrows, not only the current standing animation changes, but also the corresponding walk, the run, the object sit, the ground sit etc. And with how I have organized the animations, this makes the change more natural. For example, if I'm standing I will hobble around, but if I'm sitting I will crawl around instead of quickly standing up and walking. The "synchronization" goes across locks as well, so if I'm bending forward in "Hobble", I will also bend forward in "Tight" until I change it myself. Likewise, if I'm on my left side in a hogtie, I would be on my left side as well if the hogtie is tightened.

Sitting down in bondage

Alright, let's rest a bit more, these heels are killing me. I'd like to find a prim to sit on. What do you mean I can't sit down because my legs are tied ? Pfft. That was before !

I hobble my way to a comfy-looking plywood prim...

... and I sit on it.

What the hell ? I look like I'm standing with my legs going through the cube and even the ground... What can I do ?

Easy. The HUD allows me to actually tweak the sitting pose in many ways so that I am practically sure to find one suited for my current position. So I do this, I click on the upper right arrow  of the lower HUD (the one for the legs) until I am satisfied with the sitting pose :

There, my legs are still tied the way they were, but they are folded now. I can use the arrows to choose the pose, and that's where the new version of the Anim plugin really shines. I have optimized it so it can handle many more animations, in particular many sitting poses. I had always been bothered by the fact that you had to have your legs restraints unlocked when sitting on an object that plays an animation (a rack, a chair, a bed...). It would totally kill the feeling of helplessness. This was due to a SL limitation with animations. That limitation still exists of course, but I have overcome it by making many variations of the base poses, this allows you to sit almost anywhere while still being bound. You don't believe me ? Let's take a look.

First I need to find a bed or a couch... Damn, there is none around here, since this place is made for working, I have overlooked its furnishing. Sorry ! It's okay, let me teleport to another place...

There we go. This is a playroom of mine I go to often, it is filled to the brim with top-of-the-line stuff. Here I will be able to show you what I mean by "being able to sit almost anywhere".

Let's see here... "Exec Chair  v1.20.1 - LP" by Misao Nakamura. Comfy, good animations, and wicked. We'll start easy.

I sit on it...

Not really impressive so far, my legs are clipping through the seat... I click on the upper right arrow :

There is a little improvement, my knees are bent slightly. Still clipping, though. I click again :

Oookaaay... This is going to take a while. I click again. And again, and again and again and again until my thighs finally move. For this particular tie, it actually takes 6 more clicks.

Interesting, now my thighs are correctly placed, but my knees are straight again. Maybe if I keep clicking on the right arrow, I'll find a pose that suits me...
!

This is the 15th pose. Whew ! It took a while but I finally found a pose for my legs that goes well with that chair.

Oh, I know what you're thinking. That's WAY too many clicks, and I agree with you. But worry not, the HUD will help you there.

Have you noticed how many arrows this HUD has ? Until now I have clicked only on the upper right arrow, now is the time to explain what the others do.

Obviously, if the upper right arrow takes me to the next animation in the list, the left one takes me to the previous one. And if I click on the left arrow while I'm on the 1st pose, it wraps around to the last one, so far so good.

Likewise, the two dashed arrows (on the 3rd row) take me to 3 poses forward or backward, wrapping around when needed as well.

More interestingly, the two curvy arrows on the 2nd row are very useful in every situation, they jump to the next "group" of animations, or to the first animation of the current one, or to first animation of the previous group if you are already on the first one of the current group.

Confused ? Let me illustrate all this with an example and you'll understand. While I was sitting and playing with the arrows, you noticed that my knees were moved first, and then my thighs. My knees moved back 8 times, then my thighs moved back once, then I could move my knees back 8 times again before my thighs would move again, and so on. This is where "groups" are useful : every position for my thighs is a "group", containing all the possible angles for my knees. In other words, "jumping to the next group" simply means moving my thighs once, putting my knees into the straight position again. Let me show you.

Right now I'm sitting corrrectly, but what if I want my thighs higher and my knees folded, like curved in a ball on the chair ? Easy, I click on the right curvy arrow 3 times to put my thighs high in the air, close to my chest :

Then twice on the 3-step right arrow to bend the knees close to the thighs :

Then once on the upper right arrow :

Bingo ! I'm now sitting curled on my chair exactly like I wanted !

I actually took the long way to show you how it all works, but let's do it again my way now. I click on the left button of the 4th row, the one that looks like an arrow pointing to the left with a bar on its left :

Back to the first pose, with my legs straight and clipping through.

I click on the "previous group" button, which moves my legs back (it is useful in some situations, for example when you are lying on your belly but your pelvis is rotated up, making your legs poke through the furniture).

The Anim plugin informs me this is the 41st pose. There are 48 in total, just for "Hobble" !

Now I click on the "previous pose" button to go to the last pose of the previous group, since the "previous group" button I just pressed took me to the first pose of the last group in the list (you may want to read that sentence twice, I know it is a little complex).

Tadaa ! I'm back to the pose I wanted, in only two clicks this time ! Three if you count the "go back to first pose" click.

Oh ! I was all about ajusting my legs, but what about my arms ? You know what ? Same solution. Except the arms have much fewer poses than the legs when it comes to sitting, but they are organized in groups too. So I simply click on the "first pose" button, then back twice, and I'm good.

If you really want to know what a group of animations is, it is simply a subset of consecutive poses in the whole list of available poses for the current tie you're in. It begins with a pose, contains several more similar poses, and ends just before the next group begins. In our example above, every group of animations began with the thighs at a certain angle, and contained every available angle for the knees.

Now, let me demonstrate a few more situations. I won't go into detail again, you have understood the principle already. I will only tell you the buttons I press, and the result I obtain, to show that you can actually sit anywhere without ever having to be unbound.

This chair is comfy, but no way I'm going to work on my computer right now, not in that bondage ! I'll take a rest instead :

I choose the "Slouch" sit pose of this chair (that's an animation contained in the chair, not in the ropes), I press , and my legs are straight again. Now I press then , and I'm in a pose that looks good in six clicks :

Oh and my arms are clipping through the armchair now. No problem, I click , and they're out of the way.

Enough slouching in the chair now, I need to show you more !

I stand up, and immediately I find myself bending over... This is normal, I went so far into the sitting poses that, because of the synchronization, I went beyond the number of standing poses available, so it chose the last one. I click on to correct that. Same for the arms, and I'm back to normal in two clicks.

Now, I want to use the bed on the other side of the room. There are a few poses that are very interesting for the matter at hand. Let's begin with the pose named "Petition", which I believe is a prayer :

I tie myself up again, press on both HUDs to put myself in the first pose for both arms and legs :

I click on the legs, then and bingo, I am now kneeling down again but in proper bondage this time :

One more example now, there is a piece of BDSM equipment named "BH  bondage hook RLV" by Britt Halberstam on the wall over there, and it has an interesting spanking position. Of course it is meant to show you bound with your legs straight and your arms in a strappado natively, but what if I want MY ropes to do the job instead ? Let's find out how.

First I tie my legs in the "Tight" pose instead of "Hobble", for the sake of the demonstration, and I press on both my arms and legs.

I activate the hook I hop to the poseball and I sit on it :

I look like I'm floating in the air, and my ropes are connected to the hook. Gracious, but... not really what I expected. Let's get on with that strappado already !

I click and on the arms to move them almost all the way up, and then I press
on the legs to move them all the way down. There ! Now I'm standing in a strappado !

I could also flex my legs a little, for example by clicking on , and then once or twice :

It's all a matter of preference.

One last example ? Ok, a real quickie then. Did you notice that small cage earlier ? "serious small steel cage" by Vincent Weigler. I'll go curl down in it, and you'll see the ropes can withstand even that kind of situation.

This is the original position.

I click on both the arms and the legs, I click on once and then on once and I'm curled up. All I need to do is to adjust my arms by clicking on once and that's it ! I might need to adjust my height a little with my Z slider, but nothing more.

If you wonder how to remember all those combinations to find the quickest route, don't worry, it comes naturally with a little practice.

I have shown you only the Hobble and Tight sits, but there are more. The Frogtie, for example, while simpler, is more flexible. One of its sits actually leaves the thighs free and only freezes the knees, so your upper legs still move in the position imposed by the furniture you sit on. This leaves you a lot of room for example for, umm, sex. The other sits in Frogtie allow you to curl in a ball but also to sit in scissors and such.

The ability of this Anim plugin to handle so many animations is the reason why the "on/off" and the "sit override" buttons have disappeared in this version. It had always bothered me that we were able to simply deactivate the current animation to be able to sit correctly, leaving the restraints in a strange state. Visible, but inactive. It looked weird and broke the mood. It was necessary though, because the older version did not have so many sitting animations, and its Autorefresh was simply broken so we needed a way to deactivate one restraint if we wore several restraints of the same type at the same time (like cuffs in a binder for example, or ankle cuffs with legs straps).

Now, with enough sitting animations to satisfy nearly all your needs and the Autorefresh feature being repaired, those buttons are not necessary anymore and are removed.

Adjusting the height automatically

Another new feature for the plugin is its ability to automatically adjust your height, thanks to Henri Beauchamp's work on the "@adjustheight" command in the RLV some time ago. I am rather tall, and when I design animations I do it with my shape (I'm not only against alts, I'm also against changing shape all the time... what can I say), which means that if you are significantly smaller than me you will sink into the ground if you are in a hogtie, for example, unless you wear high heels. very, very high heels in some cases. Naturally, given the number of animations I cannot make several variations of the same animation depending on your shape. Some content creators do that, but I don't, too much work. There are over 300 animations in these ropes so I won't even consider that option.

The obvious solution is to let you tweak your height yourself thanks to your Z slider (many Third Party Viewers have one, including the RLV where it is directly at hand), but that's tedious since you would have to do that every time you change your pose.

So the solution is to make the plugin tweak it for you automatically. It doesn't even require any input on your part. If the plugin detects you are using the RLV, and if the animation is meant to change your height, then it will adjust so you are as close to the ground as possible. It also takes the height of your shoes into account so high heels will not give the same offset than flatties. The offset also changes every time the animation changes, which means it changes when you start moving and changes back when you stop. Finally, it is set back to zero once you're untied or switch to an animation that does not trigger the automatic offset feature such as standing animations.

It works pretty well but is not perfect, and it is not meant to decide for you the height that you prefer. So you have a way to add a custom modifier yourself, that will be applied every time the plugin changes your offset.

Enough talk, let's illustrate :

I am currently in the "Tight" tie, standing, and my Z offset is zero.

Since I am standing, my height does not matter when it comes to making my feet touch the floor. SL calculates it automatically, so the Z offset can stay at zero (and will).

But what if I sat down ? Depending on my height, I would either sink into the ground or hover above it, but there is little chance I would be perfectly level. Well in my personal case, with my shape, I would, but only because this is the shape I used to make those animations in the first place. Anybody else would sink or hover, and that's where the auto adjust feature comes in handy.

To illustrate the height problem, I will now wear high heels without moving (the adjustment occurs only when the animation changes).

Since the plugin did not notice I changed height, and I am higher because of the heels, I am now floating in the air because my Z offset is still at zero. Let's move a little so the plugin notices the change and adjusts :

The plugin has corrected my height by -0.09 now. That's good, but not good enough to my taste because I'm still a little too high above the ground. Like I said above, the process is not perfect so it also takes your preference into account. Personally, I found out that I like it 0.05 to 0.07 units lower than zero, usually. To do that, I simply click on the "Offset" button of my Anim HUD : , and it gives me this menu :

This menu is quite simple. It lets you specify your modifier, save it in case you want to use another one for a bit, set it back to zero and also activate or deactivate the whole adjusting (because you might simply not want to let the plugin play with your Z offset at all, who knows). I set it to -0.05 :

Et voila ! Back on the floor ! Notice how the Z offset has changed now, taking my modifier into account : -0.14 is equal to the former -0.09 plus my modifier of -0.05.

The animator

The last new feature of the Anim plugin, or rather its HUD, is its animator. I know there are many animators out there, some are very good, but I wanted to integrate my own into the Anim HUD because I wanted a choice of animations that go well with any bondage. Plus the animator I use every day is very heavy script-wise, while the one I made for this HUD is very light.

Let me explain.

There are cases where you are bound from head to toe and can barely move. But there are cases where you're free from the waist down, and still want to simply lay on the floor without looking silly because you don't have your arms to support your head. Or your captor wants to examine you without moving. Or you want to provoke them with a little teasing. Or anything else you can think of.

To do this, simply click on the "Animate" button of the upper HUD, and it shows this menu :

There are 18 animations provided with the upper HUD, but the lower one does not come with any. This is to avoid confusing you, otherwise you would quickly forget which HUD contains which animation.

I click on "lay left" and...

Smexy ! But how does it look in bondage ? Let's say with my arms bound ?

It works, my head is still resting on the bed, I am not bent out of shape, the position is still believable. All the other animations are made the same way, to look good in or out of bondage. With the exception of one, which I'll let you discover by yourself.

And if you just want to stop the current animation or start the one you played last and do not want to go through the menu to do it, all you have to do is to click on the button and hold your mouse down until it reacts.

You can even add your own animations to the HUD by simply dropping them into its contents. No reset, no configuration required. Simply drop it on the HUD's Content tab on the Tools window, and that's it. Since the top HUD already comes shipped with default animations and not the bottom one, I suggest you put your own animations in the bottom HUD, so youd don't get confused. This is why the bottom HUD does not contain any animation by default, to let you add your own.

Play/pause and synchronization

The remaining buttons at the bottom are easy. The left one lets you choose whether you want to stay static or if you want the animation to switch to the next every X seconds, exactly like most AOs.

The right one with the link lets you choose whether you want to keep all the anims synchronized or not. When they are synchronized and you switch to the next stand, the plugin will also switch to the next walk, the next sit etc. If you turn the syncrhonization off, switching to the next stand will leave the other animations alone. I recommend keeping them synchronized, but you're in control here, you do what you want.

Lastly, you might have noticed that the HUDs are surrounded by a darker area (it's faint, you may want to look at it over a light background). If you click on it, the HUD will get out of the view but a part of the dark area is still visible. Click on it again, and it comes back. Exactly like the Riding Reins HUD.

This pretty much covers it all. Sorry for the long winded tutorial but there was a LOT to explain.

Have fun !

New product : Siren Rope Set

Hi !

After nearly two months of hard work, I am proud to announce the release of my latest product : the Siren Rope Set. I have been wanting to make something like this for years now, but the building resources of SL were simply not adapted until recently. My closest attempt was the Shibari arms and legs, which works well for the Japanese style bondage, but I also wanted to make a Western-style rope set. Problem is, it requires thinner rope or it looks cheap... and only mesh could allow that.

So, where to begin... This is a huge release, the most accomplished of all my products in fact, and I am quite proud of the result. There is a lot to say about it as you will see.

I mentioned Western-style. Like the Japanese style, the goal is to render a captive completely helpless and sexy. But unlike the Japanese style, the focus lies on the amount of ropes rather than on the precision of the ropework. We don't want the ropes to massage pressure points or to do tricky things like tightening when the captive struggles, we just want to use lots and lots of ropes, and to make them tight enough to ensure helplessness in the first place !

You don't believe me ? Here is an example of how many ropes you get :

The Siren Rope Set is actually two products in one : the arms part and the legs part, exactly like the Vixen cuffs, the Elegance shackles and several other products of mine. Both parts are independent, but they work so well together that it makes more sense to put them into the same box than to sell them separately.

The features

Before I go further, let me give you the obligatory list of features :

- Miles and miles of thin rope, very close to the skin, very sexy.
- All the ropes are mesh objects, most are not rigged so they are easy to resize to your shape.
- The ropes linking the wrists to the ankles and the arms to the torso are rigged so they follow your movements. They are actual ropes, not particles, for a better look.
- 8 ties for the arms.
- 8 ties for the legs.
- Over 300 animations ! 314 to be exact.
- 20 photorealistic textures : cotton, nylon, polyester, hemp, rough, climbing, camouflage... Plus the ability to change the tint and the material to make the ropes look wet, plastic, latex or metallic.
- Smooth walks linked to the position you're in.
- Smooth custom struggles, linked to the position you're in as well.
- Ability to change the style of the bondage, by making a plugin hide and show some parts according to your tastes.
- The crotchrope and harness rope can be shown even if you are not tied up.
- If you are wearing heels, they can be tied by the ropes as well, forcing you to keep them on until release.
- Three vibrators compatible with the ropes, for additional stimulation.
- The ropes can be leashed, so you can be dragged on a leash while tied up.
- Low script count, very low lag.
- New Anim plugin, lets you navigate among the many poses easily so you always find the one that suits your bondage. It also adjusts your height automatically (RLV required for that feature to work), and it even includes its own animator to play vanilla animations to variate your predicament even more. 18 animations are included by default in the arms plugin but you can add your own.
- Totally compatible with RLV so the ropes can restrict you in a realistic way.

The arms ropes

Both parts of the set contain 8 locks (well, ties) instead of 6. You have to press "More..." on the menu to reach the last two. Here is what you get :

For the arms, the first tie is just the elbows behind the back, so you can hold an object and use it. Like a feather duster. Or a paddle. It's fun for sessions with several subs !

The second and third ties bind the wrists only, on the front and behind the back :

The fourth tie is more particular, typical to bedroom bondage : the arms over the head, with or without a rope going around the neck.

The fifth tie is the regular arms bound parallel behind the back.

The six tie is very intricate : a rope straitjacket ! Try getting out of this one. Hehe.

The seventh one (don't forget it is on the second page of the menu) is the box tie, looking like a U-shape but tighter and a bit higher, with the arms crossed. It's very beautiful and has many styles.

And the eighth one is the tightest of all, besides its very name says it all : "Supertight" !

Now, I mentioned the 8 ties for the arms, but before I show you the 8 ties for the legs, let me tell you that you are not restricted to only 8 positions for your arms. As I explain here (http://realrestraint.blogspot.com/2012/11/rr-tutorial-anim-plugin-v2.html), the Anim plugin lets you choose between many many variations for each tie to fit any situation you may find yourself in. To put it simply, there are over 70 poses just for the arms for you to choose. Let me show you a few examples :

The legs ropes

Now on to the legs. Like the arms, there are 8 ties, the last two being accessed from the second page of the menu.

The first tie is a hobble, with a rope cinching the knees and another tying the ankles together loosely. You can walk in it but not fast, or you can crawl if you're sitting. You can also kneel down, sit or stand against a wall, using furniture and elements in-world is always more natural !

The second one is tighter, the legs are held tightly and parallel so you can only hop around or slide on your butt. Like in hobble, you can stand, sit in several ways or stand against a wall.

The third one is similar, but laying on the floor, so all you can do is crawl slowly. But what better way to get lazy and lavish in bondage ?

The fourth one is a regular hogtie. You can stay on your belly but you can also roll over, left, right and up.

The fifth one is a much tighter hogtie ! You can still roll over but you will feel how tight it is when you do.

The sixth one is a hogtie with your legs crossed, forcing them open and not leaving much room for movement. Roll over to your back if you want to tease your captor !

The seventh one is my favorite : the frogtie. You can actually stay on your knees, bend forward, bend backward, spread your legs, lay on your side in several ways... This is the tie that holds the most variations. And you can even have sex while in frogtie ! *nodsnods*

And finally, the eighth tie is a lotus position. While in lotus, you can sit on your butt but also get up on your knees, or lay down on your side or on your back.

With all those different and complimentary ties, you can find yourself into interesting situations...

Looking good in bondage has never been so easy !

The animations

The bulk of the work is focused on the animations. They are smooth and natural, the walks are adapted to the pose you're in, as well as the struggles. That's right, the struggles are custom ! Try them out !

Speaking of the walks, most of them are actually crawls, because the bondage is often so stringent that all you can do is crawl slowly on the floor. But you know that when you move, your camera follows you at a regular pace, right ? I took care of making the avatar actually stop and thrust repeatedly instead of just sliding continuously, for a more realistic look. Here is an example with the laying frogtie :

If you want to see some other walks, here are a few more examples :

The new Anim HUD is included in the ropes. Simply click on them, select "Plugins..." then "Anim..." and press "Give HUD". Wear the HUD, and you are ready to control your animations. The tutorial I mentioned earlier explains in detail how to use it.

I can't stress it enough though : you do need the Anim HUD provided with the ropes (or any other one but this one works better since it has been updated). Without it, you'd miss 50% of the fun since you wouldn't be able to control your bondage so easily.

You will notice that you will stay bound even while sitting on a piece of furniture, whatever it is, without the ability to turn the animation off anymore. Why ? Because you can pick the perfect position among the ton of sitting poses contained into the ropes and it will suit the animation of the furniture, while not breaking your bondage. Look for yourself !

Kneeling by the bed :

Curled up in a small cage :

Imprisoned in another cage :

Tied in a strappado :

Being silly on the bed :

Or just lazing in a chair :

No more having to be untied in order to use a piece of furniture ! Now you can actually live in bondage !

What do you mean, "enough bragging" ? Wait, you aren't seriously going to...

Eek ! Ow !   Alright, Alright ! I yield ! No more bragging !

The textures

Of course, since they are meant to be realistic, the ropes are textured in a photorealistic way. There are 20 textures, 17 of them made by me. Here are a few closeup shots :

To control the texture of the ropes, simply use the "SirenTex" plugin.

The styles

As I mentioned earlier, the captor is able to control the look of the ropes, not only their textures but also which one is shown and which one is hidden, according to the chosen bondage. There are two ways to do that : either go to the "Style" plugin and choose the style there (some bondages offer up to 7 styles), or simply choose the same tie several times in a row. The ropes will say which style they have switched to.

The "Style" plugin is also in charge of hiding and showing some special parts of the ropes. The arms one controls the visibility of the chest harness, while the legs one controls the crotchrope and its vibrator (more on that later on). You can make it show the harness and the crotchrope without having to be bound.

Resizing

No doubt you will need to resize your ropes the first time you wear them. It is actually not as hard as it looks. Sure they look complex, but they are mesh, which means there are only a few items. To resize them in the easiest way, I recommend you this procedure :

1. Tie your arms in the "Elbows only" tie.

2. Edit the elbow rope that appears (how to do that depends on your viewer, on the RLV I maintain you just press Ctrl-3 and click on the rope, or right click on the rope and select "Edit"), this shows the "Tools" window (not to be mistaken with the "Tools" menu of the ropes, the "Tools" window is a window shown by your viewer, some viewers call it the "Edit" window or the "Build" window, but it is always the same window).

3. You notice that you did not select only the elbow ropes, but also one more rope located higher on the arms, and which is invisible. Most objects contained in the box are made of two or three items (or prims, even if the term is now incorrect).

4. Click on the "Edit Linked" or "Edit Linked Parts" checkbox on the "Tools" window (the actual name depends on your viewer as well), this will allow you to select one item at a time.

5. Click on the elbows ropes again, the item that is highlighted in yellow, not the blue one (you'll take care of it later, it is shown only on the 8th tie).

6. You can move it with the arrows, or rotate it by holding the Ctrl key, or scale it by holding Ctrl and Shift at the same time.
7. If you make a mistake, and you will certainly (I do all the time), press Ctrl-Z. This undoes your last action. Pressing it again keeps undoing until you're back to a fresh state if you need to.
8. Once you are satisfied with the positioning of your elbow ropes, switch to the next tie ("Arms front") and do it again.

It sounds long and hard but it really is not. I have cut the ropes in a way that they are easy to resize to your shape, and many ropes are used for more than one tie (and you need to resize them only once, not once for each tie, of course).

Note that you do not necessarily have to resize every prim individually, perhaps your shape is close to mine enough that you only need to resize proportionally. But editing linked parts allows you to stretch in one direction at a time, this gives you a lot more control over how your ropes fit your body. You do not want to look like you are floating in your ropes or like they are cutting through your skin, do you ?

One thing to remember, though, there are two harnesses ! The light one is used in the "Straitjacket" and the "Box" ties (and is also controlled by the "Style" plugin), while the heavy one is used in the "Supertight" tie only. It is tricky because they both overlap a lot, so it is a good idea to check what you select before resizing, for example by pressing Ctrl-Alt-T to see the invisible items in red.

See what I mean ?

One more thing : if you have trouble connecting the two wrist ropes in the "Hands front" and "Hands back" positions, that means your shoulders may be wide. No problem, there is a coil of rope hidden inside your right wrist (it might be tricky to see it, but it's there), that you can move, scale and rotate all you like to close the gap between the wrist ropes.

I'll show you how it's done.

My shoulder width is normally 47, but for this example I have set it to 70. See the gap ? We're going to close it without resizing the ropes.

First locate the hidden coil, that might be the trickiest part because sometimes the viewer won't let you cam inside your own body. What I do is kneel on the ground (thanks to the "kneel low" anim of the animator contained in the Anim HUD, for example), tie my hands in the "Hands back" tie and focus on the ground behind me with the Alt key. Then I move my camera until it is inside my right arm, and I select the small coil with the "Edit Linked Parts" checkbox ticked, like this :

It works best if the drop-down list of the "Tools" window is set to "Local", because the coil is more or less aligned with the coils already present, so all you have to do is to slide along the red arrow and then to adjust slightly until you are satisfied.

Drag the red arrow to the left.

Adjust a little, scale, move up or down until you are satisfied with the result :

The bonuses

The ropes contain a couple funny pluses that I'm sure you will enjoy !

Firstly, like the Vixen leather set, they are able to tie your shoes to your feet, to keep you from removing them at all until you are untied. I call that "heel ropes", and those ropes can be resized and rotated even by your captor (but you can do it yourself too, although you cannot remove them yourself if someone else tied you up). The way to control these ropes is through the "TieShoes" plugin of the legs ropes.

Another bonus is the vibrator, that ties itself to the crotchrope. Inactive while invisible, it can be shown thanks to the Style plugin of the legs ropes (the crotchrope, which is controlled by this plugin as well, has to be visible too). Once shown, it can be turned on, and... mmmmmmm... It actually vibrates and hums, making all the knots of your crotchrope going all rub-rub...

And if one vibrator tied to the crotchrope is too light for you... guess what, the box includes two more vibrators ! Those are not tied with ropes but merely inserted... but they do react to them all the same, which means you can't turn them off if your legs are tied up (since they are controlled by the legs) and you can't untie yourself !

And another bonus is four gestures called "Tiptoes" that allow you to control the angle of your feet, should they be bent out of shape when you wear high heels (it happens with some of them). You need to activate them in order to use them. Simply press F9, Shift-F9 or Ctrl-F9 to force them to 60°, 30° or 0° respectively, and press F10 to release them.

The price

I left that matter for the end... You can acquire these ropes for L$1000, and the updates are free. Be advised that this is not an update to the Shibari rope set, but an entirely new product.

Have fun and enjoy life-like bondage !

... and they work better now.

Hi there, the updaters for the RR products are back at last ! I'm sorry for taking them out for so long, I know some of you have been wanting to update for a while and couldn't.

I had to take them offline because suddenly a protection against a certain hack was not working anymore, and someone told me about it. This was one of the first protections I put in the update system two years ago, and it worked like a charm (except once when an avatar and two alts exploited it without me noticing) but for some reason a SL change broke that lately, so it was urgent that I removed them.

But that's not the reason why they were taken out for so long. The main reason was that the updaters were not able to handle v1.22 of my products, whatever I tried. This all came down to petty memory issues, but the huge differences and increases in inventory size in 1.22 simply brought the system to its knees, so it was time to rethink it all.

That's what I did, I redid the whole system from scratch. In your point of view, the thing works exactly the same as before, with these subtle differences :

- It's faster, it does not take several seconds per script anymore.
- You can rez several orbs at the same time to update one product per orb, in parallel. The old system could not do that.
- You can cancel an update at any time.
- You know in advance what product you will receive if you choose to replace your item.
- And last but not least, it can handle huge inventory lists like the many animations in 1.22 restraints, the old system could not. In other words, you will be able to replace a 1.22 restraint in the future (it was not possible before).

Please be aware that if your product is not recognized as a retail one even though it was never modified, it is probably due to me not having put its signature into the updater yet. In that case, the updater won't let you replace it with the latest version so all you can do is IM me and send me your product for a manual replacement (and I will add the signature to the list in the process).

Also there is no new version yet, the latest version is still v1.22 at the time of this writing.

For your information, here is my roadmap for the months to come :

- Some people have trouble adjusting the Siren ropes to their shape, due to a big shoulder width over body size ratio, or due to a small arms length. I want to cut some of the ropes (mainly the over-arms, vertical box part and front SJ part) to make them take a couple prims instead of just one, so it will resize better. The downside is that it makes more prims, so it will be longer to resize. But you can't have the cake and eat it.

- I want to make sitting poses for the other legs restraints to make them behave like the Siren ropes.

- I want to add animations to the existing restraints so they are on par with the Siren ropes.

There are other projects in the making, maybe a couple products that I might slip in-between, but overall lifting the existing restraints to make them as good as the Siren ropes is what I want to do next.

RealRestraint update 1.23

Hello there,

Like I mentioned in a previous post, I wanted to work on the animations of the older restraints to make them as versatile and powerful as the Siren ropes, especially when it comes to sitting down while bound. This goes a long way to make the bondage feel more natural.

I have replaced the old Anim plugin with the new one that was introduced in the Siren ropes, along with its new HUD. Check the tutorial for details : http://realrestraint.blogspot.com/2012/11/rr-tutorial-anim-plugin-v2.html

Attention : this update requires you to choose "Replace" on the menu, you will NOT get the new animations and other improvements if you choose "Update". This is because most restraints have been added items, and some have even had their prims modified.

I have also overhauled the Shibari ropes so they can use the same textures and animations as the Siren ropes now.

I have replaced all the animations of the straps (arms & legs) by those of the Siren ropes, that are smoother and look better.

I have added several variations and walks to the spreader bar of the Vixen legs cuffs, which were in need for some attention. Now you can bend over in several ways, roll on your back, hop like a rabbit and such. The spreader bar is a lot more fun now !

Finally, as promised, I have cut the problematic ropes of the Siren rope set (the over-arms, the straitjacket and the box, plus the rigged "hobble" rope) in several parts. Some people simply could not fit the ropes to their shape, despite their best efforts, and that wasn't their fault but mine. My initial goal was to keep the prim count as low as possible, but the ropes were too simple and could not be resized to all shapes. Hopefully it will cover more shapes now.

Be advised that every RR item that is not an arm or a leg restraint (i.e. hood, gag, blindfold, collar, crate, jammer) will benefit only marginally from this update, since only their main script will be updated (to make them silent by default as written below).

Here is the list of features :

Anim plugin
- Ported the old Anim plugin in all the arms and legs restraints to the new one, like the one in the Siren ropes.
- Replaced the old Anim HUDs with the new ones in every arms and legs restraints. Since the avatar can now sit down everywhere while bound, there is no need to be able to turn the animation on and off at will (this is bondage, after all).
- All legs restraints are now shipped with the Tiptoes gestures that allow you to flex the feet at will with the F9, Shift-F9, Ctrl-F9 and F10 keys (don't forget to activate the gestures first). This is handy when wearing high heels and being tied in poses that make the feet bend too much.
- Fixed a bug when trying to struggle while locked without a pose.
- When struggling and no struggling animation is specified, the plugin defaults to the old "musclebeach" one (where the avatar flexes three times).

Lockable
- The restraints are now silent by default.

Arms straps, arms Shibari ropes
- Changed the poses to match those of the Siren arms ropes, for a smoother feeling.
- Added 3 variations for "arms tight" and "wrists back"

Arms Elegance cuffs, arms Serious shackles, arms Vixen cuffs, arms Police cuffs
- Added 3 variations for "arms tight" and "wrists back", so the arms can be pushed closer to the back when the avatar is bending over or curling in a bed (for example).

Legs straps, legs Shibari ropes
- Changed the poses to match those of the Siren arms ropes, for a smoother feeling.
- Included the avatar height offset in the poses.
- Changed the order of the hogties to match that of the Siren ropes (the old order was down-left-right-up, the new order is down-left-up-right).

Legs Elegance cuffs, legs Serious shackles, legs Vixen cuffs, legs Police cuffs
- Included the avatar height offset in the poses.
- Replaced some of the animations with the ones in the Siren legs ropes (especially for sitting while bound "Tight").

Shibari ropes
- Changed the textures to match those of the Siren ropes (the "Texture" plugin becomes the "ShibariTex" plugin, which also handles the tint and the material). Doing this also fixed the problem with the leash texture, as well as the hogtie particle chain. These textures now match the texture of the ropes, just like the Siren ropes.

Siren ropes
- I have cut some of the ropes in several parts, to allow for better resizing. It might take longer but at least you will be able to resize to your shape, especially if you had trouble before or simply couldn't get it to fit your shape :
    - Over-arms : the prim is now cut into 5 prims.
    - Straitjacket : the front prim is now cut into 3 prims.
    - Box : the back prims are now cut into 3 or 4 prims each.
    - Hobble rope : the old rigged mesh is now cut into 3 parts : 1 rigged, 2 non-rigged, so you can resize the ankle ropes now (SL does not allow to resize a rigged mesh but some people had trouble with this rope).
- Fixed a bug with its Anim plugin : when walking with the hands tied, the arms would sometimes not retain their position. It had to be with a subgroup animation like the 2nd one in the list, not the 1st one.
- The hands in the Straitjacket tie are now less bent, so avatars with wide shoulders will still be able to see them.
- As explained on the blog (http://realrestraint.blogspot.com/2012/11/new-product-siren-rope-set.html), there is now an additional coil of rope hidden inside the right wrist, in case your wrist ropes do not connect when tied in the "Hands back" and "Hands front" ties.

Vixen legs cuffs
- The LockShoes plugin has been made to look more like the TieShoes plugin of the Siren ropes.
- Added a lot of animations for the "Spreader" and "Sit spread" locks (they were needing some love).

Police legirons
- The "Give Keys" plugin did not have the "Throw Away" option
